Truth and Conciliation Commission

Who We Are

The Truth and Conciliation Commission was created as one result of the Resolution to Repudiate the Doctrine of Discovery at their Diocesan Convention in 2022. It’s roots began before that as a committee tasked with researching and writing the resolution. Since that time, the commission has created Indigenous partnerships and working groups to further the work of repudiation. Below you will find a message from our original commission chair, key resources, and contact information and links for members, consultants, and partnerships. We are part of the Repair Network through the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery (https://dismantlediscovery.org/ and partners with WeX, a grassroots movement among the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs to promote equity and healing. Join us as we work towards telling the truth and advocating for healing and restoration for Indigenous people and their lifeways.
